Sector – V of the Salt Lake City, Kolkata has been identified as a growth centre for Information Technology (IT) with the setting up of large number of units by domestic and multinational companies.

Recently NDITA has organized a survey to get the details about the companies established in Salt Lake Sec – V. From the survey report it is found that there are :

• 188 nos. of IT & ITES companies

• 39 nos. of Manufacturing unit

• 39 nos. of Educational & other Institution

• 20 nos. of various Electrical & Electronics companies

• 16 nos. of Construction companies

• 21 nos. of Management & Consultancy companies

• 29 nos. of Bank & Financial Institutions

• 3 nos. of Land Development companies

• 11 nos. of Printing Press & Publishing House

• 42 nos. of Telecom companies

• 17 nos. of Hospital, Medicine shop or Health Care Service Centre

and there are also other 116 nos. of establishments in Sec – V, like - Petrol Pump, Book Shop, Fire Station, Studio, Transportation, Photo copy Shop, Gift Shop, Office of Plastic Product Lab, Engineering Services etc.
